Hi hey howdy what’s up

memoji of chris throwing the pace sign

my name is chris, my friends call me tune, captain jack, or other explicit names

So who am I and how did I end up as a Ux Designer?

Well I’ve had a few past lives that led me here…

guy and two girls standing on back of wake boat

Two years running a wake surf lifestyle brand and charter company, leading all creative fronts and ventures.

Creative Director

PErsonal trainer

man surfing at waco surf ranch

Broken bones and broken dreams of being a pro-skater, but still traveling the globe to surf, skate, and snowboard.

ACtion Sports Freak

So I’m a board brat with a love for the outdoors, music, coffee in the morning, and spending time on the water. A Michigan boy at heart, with a little SoCal skater flair. I ventured into UXD through a lifelong of being a creative: freelancing streetwear clothes, producing music, and starting a surf brand.

I studied behavioral neuroscience and computer science at the University of Michigan, which led me to discover UXD. I’ve really enjoyed being able to get creative, develop technical skills, problem solve, and utilize my psychology & human behavior background.

(It is also a lot more fun than my pre-med classes -_-)

I furthered my design education after undergrad with an unfinished stint (lots of debt) in the UM School of Information M.S. program studying Human Computer Interaction, before transitioning into and completing DesignLab’s UX Academy.

My design process is informed by my years of bartending and being able to comfortably converse with people, listen to their stories, and deliver a high-level of customer satisfaction. My design decisions are informed by users every step of the way, leading to a product that not only meets business goals, but delivers a directed and friendly user experience.
